Pigs are very prone to heat stress, and need a way to cool themselves down when the weather is very hot.<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t have sweat glands like humans and some other animals do, so they use water or mud to help keep themselves cool.<\/p>\n

The mud layer can also help keep off pesky flies and other annoying biting insects.<\/p>\n
